The Magnificent Mundane

Welcome to the Magnificent Mundane!

What is The Magnificent Mundane?  It is a new paradigm - it is an ancient-new way of advancing the Kingdom of God within everyday life.  If that sounds like an oxymoron - it is!  It is the paradoxical existence of a true modern relic - a pilgrim - living in a mundane world - but yet very aware of a magnificent God who has chosen to use such creatures to advance his kingdom on earth.  I hope this is a small introduction into a much larger world of freedom & creativity. Welcome to the real world, welcome to The Magnificent Mundane.

Not So Long Ago Lyrics

The Hubble Deep Field

Almost all the points of light here are not individual stars...but galaxies, with each galaxy containing billions of stars! This is the true picture of space, the one that God views, courtesy of the amazing Hubble space telescope, which focuses on one tiny point of space for weeks and reveals the reality of the Cosmos. Many of these galaxies are much different now, or even long gone into oblivion as we are seeing them back in time, as they existed millions to billions of years ago due to the immense distance that light has to travel to arrive here!

There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on the earth! Our galaxy alone, the Milky Way, is nearly beyond comprehension to grasp in size and amount of stars, and it is only one of hundreds of billions of galaxies. Why did God make so many?! Many physicists and cosmologists have concluded that we need such a huge universe, with every star being essential for life on earth! "Approximately one hundred-billion-trillion stars we observe in the universe-no more and no less-are needed for life to be possible in the universe. God invested heavily in living creatures. he constructed all these stars and carefully crafted them throughout the age of the universe so that at this brief moment in the history of the cosmos humans could exist and have a pleasant place to live.  Hugh Ross B.S. Physics / Ph.D. Astronomy from  The Creator & the Cosmos

One more amazing fact to consider is this; Even though every star, every planet, every moon within every galaxy takes up enormous mass in the universe....the total amount is only a small fraction of the actual size of space itself! Most of the actual mass and contents of space is unknown! It is what scientists call "Dark Energy" and "Dark Matter". It is dark because it cannot be detected, however, its presence is revealed by its gravitational effect.

Please click on the image below for my take on this mysterious force. We live in an amazing world, both in the micro and the macro, as well as our everyday experience all around us!

I am not a scientist, (I just play one on TV...just kidding) but just well read up on the subject. My heroes have never been cowboys, and I don't care for sports much, but Mr. Spock & Data....they are so cool! My hope and goal is to present science and everyday wonders through a beautiful grid of faith and grace which reveals a personal loving God who we can know through Jesus. John Boda

                       Thy Kingdom Come

This recent video I made was designed as a special supplement to my eight week series entitled; Theology Cafe - Thy Kingdom Come. All the outlines are posted in the E-book page.

Hey, I spent a lot of time and study in preparing an in depth chapter-by-chapter outline of the amazing book of Genesis! While I have all the outlines posted here, they have been rather buried and tough to find and copy. But I am in the process of re-posting every one by itself and it's own title/chapter. Please check out the E-book page and scan through them if you are interested. They would be of great help for your own personal study, or if you are leading a group on this book.

Dark Energy & the Hand of God

A small, dense object only twelve miles in diameter is responsible for this beautiful X-ray nebula that spans 150 light years. At the center of this image made by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory is a very young and powerful pulsar, known as PSR B1509-58, or B1509 for short. The pulsar is a rapidly spinning neutron star which is spewing energy out into the space around it to create complex and intriguing structures, including one that resembles a large cosmic hand. In this image, the lowest energy X-rays that Chandra detects are colored red, the medium range is green, and the most energetic ones are blue. Astronomers think that B1509 is about 1700 years old as measured in Earth's time-frame (referring to when events are observable at Earth) and is located about 17,000 light years away

This newly released picture of one of the beautiful pulsar images in space,  strangely resembles a huge hand! Click on the image to read my study linking dark energy to God's hand. (So far science has not come up with anything better!)

OK, here is another very recent picture into deep space. Many are now calling this "The Eye of God! It is K 4-55 Nebula over 3000 light years away. It is very interesting that Abraham actually named Mount Moriah (English Translation) "God Provides" or "God Sees" (And he does!)

Speaking of insects, recently, I was enjoying some brew at Starbucks when I noticed a beautiful Praying Mantis clinging to the outside window next to me. Fortunately, I had my camera on hand, and caught this amazing little guy in  close detail! In fact, as far as I know, these may be the only close up shots anywhere of a Praying Mantis - actually praying, or sleeping!

Praying Mantis Seeking God (OK this is humor...but you never know!)
